Varcity at Purdue
Ecopoiesis. A senior-living community designed like a living ecosystem, where every resident plays a role and every space invites connection.
Developed for Varcity™ in collaboration with Purdue University, this project reimagines university-affiliated residential communities for seniors, with intergenerational living, lifelong learning, and wellness woven into the everyday.
The interior is organised around the idea of Ecopoiesis: variety and resilience, harmonious ecosystems where every organism plays a part, and the deep interconnectedness of all life. That ecological logic translates into shared lounges, branded cafes, restaurants, and clubs threaded around quiet zones, wellness spaces, and clear, supportive circulation.
Sited in West Lafayette near Purdue University, Jefferson High School, the Wabash River, and an array of golf clubs and restaurants, the building positions seniors right inside campus life rather than at its edge.

Inspiration
Ecopoiesis
Ecopoiesis celebrates the variety and resilience of nature, fostering harmonious ecosystems where every organism plays a vital role. It highlights the profound interconnectedness of all life forms, guiding us towards a deeper reverence for the natural world. In this building, that idea becomes architecture: a community where comfort, repetition, and serenity carry residents from their door to the heart of campus.
