Private Residence, Kitchen Renovation
A personal renovation for a family member's home - refreshing a kitchen without rebuilding it.
A renovation of an open kitchen and dining area, designed as a respectful refresh rather than a full rebuild.
The existing cabinetry stays. The casework wrapped around the island is the only thing coming out, replaced with a built-in shelving unit that turns an awkward residual condition into considered storage.
The rest is light and finish: restaining the wood in a new tone, swapping handles, adding recessed cans, and hanging two pendants over the island. Warmer, calmer, more intentional.

Site documentation · Existing finishes & cabinetry
The kitchen as we found it: solid cabinetry worth keeping, dated finishes, and a clunky island casework piece that interrupted the room more than it served it.

Selective demo · Island casework removal
Limited, surgical demo. The island casework comes out, the floor is opened where the new built-in will land, and everything else is protected and left in place.
